One of our favorite sayings is “No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.”  This is especially true in the world of animal rescue!  Some people foster, some volunteer, others donate.  I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again.  It takes a village!!

So, if volunteering is your thing, this post is for you!  There are endless ways that you can help local groups, but here are just a few in the Houston area:

This Saturday, October 6th from 9am-10am, Pup Squad Animal Rescue will be holding volunteer training.  This short one-hour training gives you all the info you need to volunteer at Pup Squad events.  Every rescue does things differently, so it’s important to learn their specifics.  Register for the training, and then stay to help with the adoption event!  Kick off your weekend by helping some puppies find their forever homes!  Email Stephy at pupsquadvolunteers@gmail.com to sign up.

Want to walk dogs at either a Saturday or Sunday adoption event?  Red Collar Rescue, K-9 Angels, Buster’s Friends Rescue, and Love Puppy Breath Rescue (just to name a few!) all hold weekend events across the city.  Check out their facebook pages and sign up to volunteer or just stop by to visit.  The pups would love to see you!

On Tuesday nights from 6:30pm-8:30pm, you can go walk dogs with Treat Em Right Rescue!  These dogs don’t have foster homes yet, so the walks and socialization is great for them.  Email robin@treatemright.org to get more info and directions.

If you want to help but can’t make any of these events, lets us know and we’ll point you in a different direction.  And if you do go volunteer, please let us know how it goes!!  We know you’ll have a great time and the dogs will, too!
